UPDATE- January 27, 2012
The main line work on The Oaks Sanitary Sewer Project is complete and the contractor has engaged in main line testing. The contractor and engineer have been on site conducting the test which should be complete on Monday, January 30, 2012. Once all testing has passed, you will be contacted by mail to inform that you may begin your service line connection work. The Utility Department continues to closely monitor the situation to quickly relay any new information to you as the testing is complete.
UPDATE - October 3, 2011
Construction for the Oaks Sanitary Sewer project is scheduled to begin soon. The construction project has been awarded to Beheler Excavating, Inc. from Butler, Ohio. Weather permitting, the contractor plans to start mobilization to the site during the week of October 10th. Sewer main line construction is scheduled to begin during the week of October 17th. The project is still scheduled to be substantially complete on December 12, 2011.
The contractor will do their absolute best to keep inconveniences to all residents to a minimum throughout the project. Please feel free to speak with the project foreman on site if you have any questions or concerns. W.E. Stilson Consulting Group will also be on the project full-time to inspect the construction. The project inspector will try to meet with each resident as construction begins and will give you his contact information. Please feel free to speak with our inspector about any of your questions and concerns during the project.
UPDATE - August 8, 2011Construction for the Oaks Subdivision Sanitary Sewer Improvements will begin in late September to early October. Once construction of the sanitary sewer main line is complete and accepted by the City, each resident will have 90 days to connect to the main line. There are a few steps that you will need to take in order to properly connect your home to the new sanitary sewer and abandon your existing septic system, also referred to as a sewage treatment system (STS).

UPDATE - July 13, 2011 On July 7, 2011, the City conducted a pre-construction planning meeting with the contractor for The Oaks Sanitary Sewer Project. At this meeting, Beheler Excavating informed the City that due to bad/wet weather earlier this year, they will be delayed in getting to The Oaks project and commencing construction activities until mid-September of this year. Please know that the December 12, 2011 substantial completion date for the project remains unchanged. A pre-construction meeting with residents is scheduled for July 19, 2011 and will proceed as scheduled. For additional information, please contact project manager Jamie Decker of W.E. The City of Pataskala would like to take this opportunity to inform you that The Oaks OEPA Mandated Sanitary Sewer Construction Project is scheduled to begin on August 1, 2011.
Plans for this project have been completed and approved by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (OEPA). Per the OEPA’s mandated schedule, construction for this project must begin by August 1, 2011. Beheler Excavating, Inc. of Butler, Ohio was awarded the construction contract and they are ready to begin the project. Construction is scheduled to be completed by December 1, 2011.
The City has also scheduled a pre-construction meeting for July 19th at 9am. The meeting will be held in Council Chambers at City Hall, 621 West Broad Street, Pataskla. Representatives from the City, W.E. Stilson Consulting Group and Beheler Excavating will be at the meeting to answer construction questions on the project. The contractor will visit the project site after this meeting.
